SASSY PANTS POLISH | FUNNY FRUIT COLLECTION

Saturday, June 11, 2016

Angie Cavaiuolo From Sassy Pants Polish reached out to me and asked if I was interested in swatching/blogging this awesome upcoming collection. Of course I said yes!

A little about Angie/Sassy Pants Polish:

She's the owner/founder/mixologist of Sassy Pants Polish and is from Onalaska, Wisconsin. Her brand is quite new as shes been open/around since September 2015 but quickly growing within the indie community. All polishes are 5 free/cruelty free, meaning its free of the harmful ingredients that can be found within mainstream brands such as; toulene, dibutyl phthalate (DBT), formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin and camphor (which aren't ingredients in her polishes).

About the collection:

She had created a polish called Plum Crazy that was apart of the May mini indied box and got a lot of requests to make it full size + release it as a single. That one polish inspired her to create this entire collection of funny fruit names .. hence the collection name LOL clever eh? The names pair well with her sassiness, so be open minded because a few of the names are kinda bold. The official release date is Sunday, June 12th at 2pm CST. This is a 7 piece collection and will be available as a set or individuals. The entire full size 15ml collection price will be $75USD or $40USD for the mini collection. Individual full size will be $12 each or $6 for the 7.5ml bottles. For a limited time free U.S shipping will be offered on orders $50 or more. International shipping has just been made available, so please bear with her as she works out all the kinks.

Time for the good stuff! The swatches! I have a boat load of photo's to share to buckle in!

P.S - These swatches may make you hungry :p

PLUM CRAZY

Has a plum holographic microglitter jelly base with violet and magenta holo glitters. It’s the sparkle crazy polish that kicked off this collection! Shown here is 3 thin coats + topcoat.

I of course had to add some nail art! I used Cheeky Beauty stampling plate CH42, with white Konad stamping polish and my Born Pretty Store clear jelly stamper.

---

BLUE(BERRY) BALLS

The collection just begged for a blue… and what a blue it is…a royal blue shimmery linear and scattered holographic polish jam packed with holographic microglitters and blue hex glitters in various sizes. This is shown in 2 thin coats + topcoat.

Wanted to add a blueberry kind of design, and this was the best I could come up with LOL I used Uber Chic plate 1 from collection 9, white Konad stamping polish and the Born Pretty Store clear jelly stamper.

---

ONE BAD APPLE

A sheer dark green jelly with UCC flakies and pale green medium hex matte glitters. Feel free to try to build up, but this looks amazingly badass over black. All it takes is one bad apple… but no spoiling the bunch here.
This is shown in 3 thin coats + topcoat.

For this design of course I had to go with apples! I used some no name plates I got off ebay, white Konad stamping polish and the Born Pretty Store clear jelly stamper.

---

LIMEY BASTARD

A bright lime scattered holographic microglitter polish. This one just makes me giggle and think of British shows where this popular insult is frequently tossed.
This is shown in 3 thin coats + topcoat

Lime stamping was very necessary as the new Uber Chic colletion are filled with yummy fruit images! I used plate 1 from collection 9, white Konad stamping polish and the Born Pretty store clear jelly stamper.

---

GOING BANANA'S

a pearl yellow shimmer with holographic microglitters and gold holo hex glitter.
This is shown in 3 thin coats + topcoat

Banana image was much needed here! I used Cheeky Beauty Jumbo Plate #7 in Home Sweet Home (this brand seems to not have a direct website anymore), black Konad stamping polish and the Born Pretty Store clear jelly stamper.

---

NICE MELONS

A coral linear holo with red-gold micro flakies. This one started out as a custom polish for Polish and Paws blog-versary giveaway. It was a perfect fit for this collection. Such a beautifully unique shade!
This is shown in 3 thin coats + topcoat

Melons? Watermelons? Same family LOL I used Uber Chic plate 1 from collection 9, black Konad stamping polish and the Born Pretty Store clear jelly stamper.

CHERRY POPPIN'

A cherry red jelly packed with red holographic hex glitter and a subtle blue shimmer. If you’re a Sassy Pants Polish virgin, this collection would be great for your “first time”.
This is shown in 2 coats + topcoat.

I got this yummy cherry image from Uber Chic plate 1 which is apart of collection 9, white Konad stamping polish and the Born Pretty Store clear jelly stamper.

FINAL THOUGHTS

This collection is a lot of fun and I appreciate the different finishes with each polish. Nice melons is such an incredibly unique shade and as far as my favorite? It's a tie between Plum Crazy, Blue(berry) Balls, Limey Bastard and Nice Melons! The formula varies as some are a 2 coater, while others are 3 thin coats. When I was swatching this collection I literally sat here and just went back to back with them all. Back to back as in, polish, topcoat, stamp without having to wait for dry time inbetween. I LOVE polish that has a quick dry time, because us ladies have things and thangs to do! Formula's were all great and went on very smoothly. I was excited to pair all these shades with fruit nail art, can ya tell? LOL did I make you hungry? Sorry  not sorry! It is recommended to use base coat with these polishes, as it'll protect the natural nail. I'm quite happy to have these beauties apart of my collection and proudly have them on my wall rack. Not all polishes make the cut for the wall, but these, they must be showcased!

To re-cap, release date is Sunday, June 12th at 2pm CST.
